On Friday, Nikhil Sosale, an RCB official, was arrested in connection with the incident.
However, the Karnataka High Court has now given temporary protection to KSCA officials, stopping the police from arresting them until the next hearing.
Court’s Decision on KSCA Officials
The Karnataka High Court heard a petition from KSCA officials asking to cancel the police case (FIR) against them.
The court, led by Justice S R Krishna Kumar, said:
- Police cannot arrest KSCA officials until the next hearing.
- Officials must fully cooperate with the police investigation.
- The next hearing will be on June 16.
Who Are the KSCA Officials Involved?
The KSCA officials named in the case include:
- Raghuram Bhatt (President, former Karnataka cricketer)
- K Sriram (Vice-President)

The Advocate General of Karnataka, Shashi Kiran Shetty, told the court that the police do not plan to arrest anyone immediately but want to continue the investigation.
Why Was the RCB Official Arrested?
Nikhil Sosale, RCB’s Marketing and Revenue Head, was arrested by the police at the Bengaluru airport while he was reportedly trying to fly to Dubai.
His arrest has raised concerns, with KSCA lawyers saying it looks like the police are targeting specific people.
Sosale has challenged his arrest in the High Court. The court will hear his case on Monday.
What Does the Police FIR Say?
The Bengaluru Police FIR states:
- They did NOT give permission for RCB’s victory parade near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
- Police were already on duty till 5:30 AM on June 4 (the day after RCB’s IPL win), and managing another big crowd was too risky.
- Despite no permission, RCB, KSCA, and DNA Entertainment still held the event.
- RCB announced the event on social media and their website, inviting fans without proper police approval.
- Free passes were given out online, but there was no clear system, leading to chaos and a stampede.

- The next hearing for KSCA officials is on June 16.
- Nikhil Sosale’s bail plea will be heard on Monday.
Why Is This Case Important?

Final Thoughts
The RCB stampede case is a tragic reminder of how poor planning and negligence can lead to disasters.
While the court has given temporary relief to KSCA officials, the investigation is still ongoing.
The police, RCB, and KSCA must answer tough questions about why safety measures failed.
For now, all eyes are on the next court hearings to see what action will be taken.
Meanwhile, RCB fans and the families of the victims await justice and better safety measures in the future.
