IPL Injury Update
It’s not just Jasprit Bumrah – a few other Indian cricketers are also waiting for the green signal from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to play in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 18.
Players like Sanju Samson, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan are all hoping to get the go-ahead from the NCA, which is located in Bengaluru and is run by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Everyone is especially keeping an eye on Jasprit Bumrah.
He is one of India’s top bowlers, but he hasn’t played since the Sydney Test match in January during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Bumrah has been recovering from a back injury in Bengaluru.
He even had surgery for this problem in early 2023.
Nitin Patel, who is the head of BCCI’s Sports Science team, is personally looking after Bumrah’s recovery.
There’s a good chance Bumrah will be ready to play by the end of March, but it’s still not clear when he will join his team, Mumbai Indians (MI), on the field.

Mumbai Indians will play their first match on March 23 against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai.
After that, they have another match on March 29 against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
Their first home game is on March 31 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Bumrah might be ready to play by then, but it’s not confirmed yet. He might join the team’s practice sessions earlier, but it’s unlikely he will travel with the team for the first two matches.
Sanju Samson, the captain of Rajasthan Royals, is also waiting for clearance.
He hurt his right index finger during the T20 series against England last month and had to have surgery.
He has already passed the fitness test for batting, but he still needs to clear the NCA’s tests for wicketkeeping.
The Royals have a backup wicketkeeper, Dhruv Jurel, who has played for India, so they are prepared if Samson isn’t fully ready.
Rajasthan Royals will play their first match on March 23 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Lucknow SuperGiants are waiting for updates on their three fast bowlers – Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan.
Mayank has been dealing with a back injury since October 2024 and hasn’t played since then.
Avesh Khan is recovering from a knee injury.
He got some injections for the problem after finishing his last Ranji Trophy match for Madhya Pradesh in January.
Since then, he has been working on his recovery at the NCA.
Not much is known about Mohsin Khan’s injury. The left-arm bowler last played in a domestic match on December 31 during the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In that game, he bowled only 5.5 overs, and there hasn’t been much news about his condition since then.
Lucknow SuperGiants are hoping that at least two of these bowlers will be ready before their first match against Delhi Capitals on March 24 in Visakhapatnam.
These bowlers are very important for the team, as they form the core of Lucknow’s bowling attack.
The team has invested a lot in them, and their performance will be crucial for the team’s success in the IPL.
